It’s the third installment of Intervention — a convention for all things Internet. It’s August 23-25 so unfortunately I’m probably not going to be able to make it (between work and heading out to the beach for vacation) but it looks like YOU might want to. I went to the first one in 2011 which unfortunately overlapped with SPX. I heard last year when it moved to a different weekend it had much better crowds and I’d guess this year’s edition will too.
LOCATION: Hilton Washington DC/Rockville at 1750 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland 20852
TIME: From Friday 12pm to Sunday 4pm
The organizers — Onezumi and Harknell are good people. I admire the drive to just up and start something because you want to see it exist. Which is basically what they did.
Good guests this year including: Mark Frauenfelder – BoingBoing, MAKE Magazine and Matt Blum – GeekDad.com and a bunch of webcomic creators including Pete Abrams – Sluggy Freelance, T. Campbell and Phil Kahn – Guilded Age, Steve Napierski – Dueling Analogs, and Shaenon Garrity – Skin Horse, Narbonic.
